Happy (Half) Birthday, Finneas!

It's official, my sweet baby Finn is 6 months old.
The past 6 months have certainly gone by quickly, but I can't even remember what life was like before this happy guy joined our family.
He is such a blessing in so many ways. He is full of smiles and always brightens my day, he laughs and giggles while playing with his big brother and sister, and it's so fun to see him grow and learn new things.
I am a little sad that he's growing so big so fast, but now that he can play and laugh we all have lots of fun together.

Lil' Monkey Birthday

This big guy, who just celebrated his first birthday, came to Piggy Toes, joined by his mom and big brother, for a fun cake smash session. Mom came very well prepared, with an adorable onesie and matching birthday hat that coordinated perfectly with his giant chocolate cupcake and our blue backdrop.
Being the strong, silent type, we didn't get lots of big smiles, but his adorable chubby legs and handsome brown eyes made up for our lack of cheeky grins.
My favorite part of the session was his lack of interest in actually eating the cake. Every time his mom would try to feed him a bite, he would adamantly shake his head 'no' and squeeze his lips closed tight. Eventually he took a few bites off the spoon, and decided it would be fun to share the cake with his big brother.

Cake Monster

In all my days as a mom, auntie, friend, and photographer, I have never ever seen a baby eat as much cake as this sweet little lady. Usually during a 'Cake Smash' session, the baby will take a few licks of frosting, make a small mess, eat a few bites of cake, and be ready to run off and play. This session was different then all the others... once we sat her in front of the cake, she didn't move away, and never stopped shoveling cake into her mouth!
Aside from the 'smash', we also had lots of fun playing dress-up with some sweet baby girl accessories. Leg warmers and hats, bunny ears and Easter baskets, and fancy pettipants and beads were all on the agenda.

Brown Eyed Girl

Being a brown eyed girl myself, I'm a bit partial to a beautiful set of dark brown eyes...
This sweet 9-month-old brown eyed baby girl amazed me with her standing and walking skills. She started off a bit shy, but slowly warmed up and gave us some sweet poses. Mom and dad came prepared with a few pretty outfits for baby, and we also played dress-up with some beautiful headbands, cute hats and legwarmers, and silly bunny ears.
I hope to get the chance to photograph this sweet baby girl and her big brown eyes again as she grows!

Pretty Princesses

There is no doubt that little girls can be lots of fun.
For this session, I had the pleasure of spending time with an adorable (and very smart!) pair of sisters who made me smile with lots of big grins and silly laughs. Also, it was clear from the start that they have a 'best friends' kind of relationship and truly enjoy each others company.
Big sister 'K' loves to read and dance, and little sister 'N' has more spunk and pizzazz than I've seen in a long time!
Thanks to mom for bringing some adorable outfits and for helping to keep the girls focused and smiling.

Spring Chickens

I promised a contest for toddlers and big kids, so get ready!

The Piggy Toes Photography 'Spring Chickens' contest is about to begin.
This contest is open to children ages 2-8. All you have to do to enter is submit a non-professional picture of your favorite spring chicken playing outside. Entries will be accepted until midnight on April 10th. Voting will begin April 11th and continue through April 17th.

Photo entries will be posted in a 'Spring Chickens' album on the Piggy Toes Facebook page.

To cast a vote, you must 'like' Piggy Toes Photography on Facebook, then simply 'like' the picture of the little chicken you would like to vote for. You may vote for more than picture, but you may only vote for each picture once. Be sure rally your friends and family to vote for your favorite spring chicken!

So, what does the winner get?!

The winner gets a FREE mini portrait session (appx 30 mins), resulting images on digital photo disk, and a print package (two 5x7 prints, one 8x10 print, and 16 wallets). The session will take place on a date to be determined during the months of May-July. Sorry, no siblings or additional family members during the mini-session... winning little chicken only.
