All About Avery

Sweet Miss Avery came prepared for her 1st birthday combo session... she brought along mom, grandma, and her adorable big brother, along with some snacks, juice, and some super cute outfits and accessories.
We started with a few standard portraits (think pretty dresses, beads, tea set...) then switched gears to do her Cake Smash! Avery was a bit aggravated once her fingers and toes got covered in frosting, but we managed to get lots of sweet pictures and even a few silly grins.
I love the colors that mom chose for her cake smash, too! So adorable  :)

Just Add Baby

I love watching families grow!
I've known this mommy since our freshman year of college (wow, that was 10 years ago!)
We've gone through lots of classes together, years of swapping teaching stories, weddings, pregnancies, and now babies.
In just a few days they are moving back to the western part of the state to be close to family now that baby has arrived, and we will surely miss seeing them around.

Princess Kasey

Kasey is just like any other 4-year-old girl in that she loves princesses, she loves to giggle, she loves to run, and she loves to get dressed up.
But, Kasey is special in lots of ways, too. She has the most gorgeous blue eyes. She can hula hoop better than anyone I know. And, she's my Evangeline's birthday buddy. Yup, they were born just hours apart.
We met Kasey and her mom for a fun morning playing at the park. Think dirt paths, lots of rocks to throw in the pond, a castle to hide around, and lots of beautiful flowers.
The kiddos had so much fun playing, and we managed to capture lots of genuine smiles.

Family First

I've said it before, but I'll say it again.
One of my favorites parts of this job is getting to spend time with such wonderful families. I love getting to chat with moms and dads, playing with the kids, and seeing how siblings interact with each other.
Over the past few weeks I've had the pleasure of shooting a few more family sessions, and I wanted to share some of my favorite 'family first' pictures...

'Spring Chickens' Winner!

'Spring Chickens' contest winner Ava was here for her FREE portrait session, and little miss Ava did such a fabulous job!
The day of our session just happened to be her 4th birthday, and she brought along mom and grandma, so in addition to some adorable birthday portraits, we were also able to get some "mommy and me" and three generations pictures.
I love the outfits that mom chose for Ava to wear, and all of the accessories, too.

K is for Kenzo

Meet Kenzo... a happy, friendly, silly 18-month-old.
Kenzo likes dogs, trains, goldfish crackers, and afternoon naps. Kenzo does not like sitting still (which, at 18 months old, is part of his job description!)
He did a great job at smiling and posing for us, and doing silly boy things, like climbing on my leather box and shaking his head crazy like the dog!
I love that we captured lots of 'Kenzo' expressions, and thinks that his mom is going to have a hard time deciding which pictures to frame and hang!
