Grandma's Boys

This handsome pair was brought to their session by Grandma, as the portraits are a special surprise for mom, dad, and grandpa.
She came prepared with lots of outfit changes, toys, and snacks. We had a game plan, too. Start with their 'formal' clothes on, switch outfits and props for a bit of variety, then end with fun baseball pictures (a special for grandpa). Well with toddlers it doesn't really matter if you have a game plan, because when it comes to a photo session, the kids make the rules!
Grandma was a bit nervous about how the boys did, but I think when all is said and done, we ended with some wonderful pictures that the family will love.

Autumn in the Springtime

Meet Autumn.
At 18 months old, she's no longer a baby, but not quite a big girl yet. She has a mind of her own, but definitely loves to snuggle and play...
It took her a few minutes to get warmed up to our 'studio' set-up, but once we let her play with the baby doll and sit in my toddler-sized arm chair she gave us some sweet smiles and began to relax.
I love her soft, wavy, strawberry hair... and mom came prepared with a variety of adorable outfits, too!

Spring Mini Sessions

Saturday was a busy day!  Spring mini sessions with a few very fun families...
The weather was less than ideal. It started a bit cool, breezy, and overcast (sweater weather), then we had some warm, bright sun (not easy to photograph in), and then it settled into a partly cloudy, crisp day.
Aside from the weather, I cannot complain about how the sessions went. We had two young baby boys who were full of smiles, moms and dads who were patient and didn't mind sitting in the dirt in their nices clothes, and toddlers who made me laugh and kept me running.

All aboooooooard!
This handsome little guy and his baby sister came to for some good ol' standard portraits. But here at Piggy Toes, we try to make things a little more fun.
Mom had told me before our session that little Brett loves to play trains, so that's what we did... let him play trains. And sweet little Ryleigh is such a doll, with soft baby skin and big beautiful eyes, the camera sure loves her little face.
It wasn't easy getting a shot of the two kiddos together, but we did our best and was able to capture their personalities and some adorable shots.

Lovely Lucy

I was so excited when little Lucy's mom asked to schedule a session with Piggy Toes for her 2-year portraits. Lucy is such a sweet girl, with one of the biggest personalities I've seen in a toddler! I had so much fun with her during the session, and also was glad to do some catching-up with her mom and meet her dad.
Lucy has lots of fun reading, playing, running, and being a kid, but she isn't afraid to show her emotions if she doesn't want to do something! I loved hearing her sweet little voice, too, when she kept asking for "pop pop", aka lollipop, and when she was being silly playing with her parents.
She certainly made me work for the shots I got, but I think we did a pretty good at capturing her personality!
